Bachelor Degree Programme International Forest Ecosystem Management
The aim of International Forest Ecosystem Management (IFEM) (B. Sc.) is the education of ecosystem managers, who understand the forests of the world as ecosystems and are qualified to conserve and use the forests according to the principles of sustainable forestry (ecosystem approach).
In order to achieve this aim, we train experts with an outstanding forest-ecological and socio-economic knowledge as well as practice-orientated management skills and international experience. The graduates shall contribute to the realisation of international resolutions and conventions for the conservation and sustainable use of the natural resources of our planet.

Master Degree Programme Global Change Management
The mission of the International Master Study Programme Global Change Management is to educate change agents and professionals who are able to cope with the challenges of natural resource management under global change and able to develop goal-oriented solutions for a sustainable transition. During the four-semester study programme students learn systems thinking as well as strategies and practice of change management. Considering Global Change Management as a cross-sectoral challenge we strive for an adaptive, pro-active and precautionary approach to natural resource management and sustainability.

Master Degree Programme Forestry System Transformation
The new “Forestry System Transformation” (FST) Master’s degree programme is geared towards modern forest ecosystem cultivation adapted to the social and ecological challenges of the future. The aim is to deploy innovative political and economical instruments, strategies and evaluation methods with which the broad range of forest ecosystem goods and services can be sustainably supported.

Master Degree Programme Forest Information Technology
The international Master study programme “Forest Information Technology” (FIT) is an interdisciplinary education offer with its main focus on environmental information technologies (IT) such as geographic information systems, remote sensing, database management, forest ecosystem modelling and management and landscape research. But the the majority of modules is related to IT fundamentals and forest and environment related applications of IT. The study programme qualifies for an occupational activity in the application range of information technologies (IT) in practice and research of the forest and environmental sector.

Master Degree Programme Biosphere Reserves Management
Learning to manage people and nature in model regions worldwide! The international master’s programme “Biosphere Reserves Management” (MSc.) aims at enabling students to effectively manage, support and develop Biosphere Reserves.
Students learn to develop sustainability strategies using participatory and cooperative approaches. They acquire knowledge about ecosystems and different concepts of land use. They study how to protect biodiversity as well as how to deal with climate change and the resulting uncertainty. Cultural and socio-economic challenges along with opportunities are identified and reflected upon.
The master course will train competences in the field of “Ecological and social systems”: Herewith students will understand the complexity and dynamics of nature-human relations. This includes scientific, socio-economic and ethical aspects of sustainable land use.
