Students on the dual course earn two qualifications: the vocational apprenticeship as an agriculturalist as well as the academic Bachelor’s degree.
Programme structure
The apprenticeship is completed at a state-recognised training company over 24 months and is structured into blocks – a 12 to 14-month block before and two 6-month blocks during the degree programme. This way, the theoretical knowledge gained through the study programme and practical project work at the HNEE can be integrated into practical application at the training company, consolidating students’ skills. This enables a direct transfer of knowledge from theory to practice and strengthens the learning process.
The total study time for both qualifications amounts to 4 years and 8 months. Students choose the company where they complete their apprenticeship themselves and organise it independently. As is standard practice in apprenticeships, the apprenticeship contract must be concluded between the apprentice, the training company and the relevant education authority.
Applying for a place on the degree programme is a separate process and should take place in the year in which the university programme starts.

Career opportunities
Together with the training companies, the dual degree programme »Organic Farming and Marketing dual« lays the foundations for training qualified specialists and managers. Equipped with practical skills and academic knowledge, graduates could not be better prepared for the professional challenges and responsibilities of organic agriculture.
Graduates take advantage of a wide range of career opportunities in managing roles in agricultural enterprises or self-employment.
